Moon Moon | Chapter 03 : Baltimore's Gross

Driving from the Appalachians to Baltimore just reminded Moon Moon how nice it is to ride in a car that isn't filled with noisy children.

Note: Image is extremely hyperbolic for anyone that isn't Moon Moon.

As the car with Ray, Abida, Moon Moon, Shadow from the Sky, and Arin got into Baltimore, Arin suddenly vanished. Which, of course, surprises everyone and Ray pulls over so that they can figure out what's happening. The Mokolé, as they aren't usually able to sidestep, were confused... meanwhile Moon Moon and Ray looked at the issue, trying to decide what to do. Ever the one to work off of gut feeling, Moon Moon attempted to side step... but wasn't able to penetrate the thick gauntlet of the city. After Ray expressed concern that he might get stuck in the gauntlet if he attempted to sidestep, Moon Moon idly suggested what her father usually did to solve a problem - call on a spirit for help. Reluctantly, he agreed, if they could find a more secluded spot to do the ritual. Moon Moon (despite her poor vision) managed to find a well-positioned spot where Ray summoned Owl to go and watch over Arin. Since time was of the essence, they couldn't just wait to help Arin and they couldn't just meander to find the "cat".

Shadow from the Sky was initially fairly silent as the group wandered through the city, wondering where they would find the "cat". Eventually, Abida spoke to him, asking him about how he felt being in the city. He quietly commented that the Wyrm's presence was strong, and after a short conversation, he agreed to help find where the "cat" might be. After finding another relatively hidden spot, he summoned a Wyrm spirit (it was vile, made of sewer sludge and muck and terribleness in the vague shape of a rat) to ask where the cat was, according to the city. After they spoke, Shadow from the Sky bellowed flame and killed the spirit, and informed the group that the cat was located at a building where one could see the letter M.

Running through the city to find the building in question (Moon Moon carrying Ray on her back, since Ray wasn't in nearly as good of shape as she is), they eventually found a large building for Magadon. As they approached the front door, however, large metal doors slamming down. Apparently the building went on lock-down, and the front had no visible means inside.

Moon Moon wandered around the corner, finding a side door and a confused-looking janitor griping about the keys that were left inside. The shudders were locked down there, too, and after a few moments Moon Moon nodded to Abida and grabbed the janitor, shoving him away from the building (he threatened to call the cops, but the threat fell on Moon Moon's unconcerned ears). When she returned, Abida had turned to her Archid form and offered to help Moon Moon to the top of the building. Moon Moon nodded, took off her pants and poncho (not wanting to ruin the few clothes she had) and sat in the oversized Mokolé's claw. And, of course, the easiest way up was simply to be thrown up towards the roof, which is exactly what Abida did. Moon Moon didn't shift to Crinos until she had to reach for the roof's edge to pull herself up.

Abida looks considerably more like an alligator and Moon Moon hates the color yellow.

And hauling herself over the edge, Moon Moon saw two things - a fleeing feline-like man, and a giant horrible thing was running behind him. Now, Moon Moon isn't terribly smart. She doesn't have the ability to sense Wyrm very well. But she knows what a Wyrm beast looks like, she's been taught as much by her father for her whole life. She leaped into action, eager to dig her claws into a Wyrm-monster like she was born to do.

It had a thick and mighty hide, and spat hideous bile from every wound. The cat man fired a gun at it, and Moon Moon ripped into it with ferocity until it was torn to ribbons. It hurt, but Moon Moon survived well, and yowled in pride and after a moment, settled down. Ray spoke with the cat man, after making it up the building, though apparently our new friend didn't speak a word of English. Or Garou. So Moon Moon sat out of the conversation, waiting and chiming in with a simple "tell him I said hi". And so the scene closes.
